I can’t ever have enough of Bluebells, I love them so much it’s a borderline obsession! I wanted the bluebells to be dinky, dangly and adorable so designed this Bluebell earrings crochet pattern to be just that and easy so that you can make them too.
I love my beautiful bunch made with my Bonnie Bluebells pattern and started with that as my base. I did a little experimenting to get them small enough for my liking. I altered the flower pattern just a little and used thread to size down and achieved a slightly smaller flower with a more delicate look, perfect for earrings.

Recommended Yarn
100% Mercerized Cotton #6 crochet thread in lilac/blue, approx. 3 yards/2.75 meters (0.03oz/0.8g)
Yarn used: Anchor Freccia 6 in colour 00117 Corn Flower Blue
Substitute: Threads ranging from #3 to #10 may be suitable. Adjust hook size as needed.
Hooks & Other Materials
- US Size C-2 (2.5mm) crochet hook
- Sewing Needle
- Sharp scissors
- Stitch Marker/safety pin x 1
- Fish hook earring blanks with loop at bottom x 1 pair
- 4-5mm Jump rings x 2
- Long nose jewelry pliers (to open and close jump ring)
- Optional – 6mm bead x 2
- Optional – beading needle
Sizes/Finished Measurements
Flower: approx. ¾” (1.9cm) wide (at widest) x ¾” (1.9cm) long (petals curled)
Complete earring: Approx. 2” (5 cm) tall
Abbreviations
St(s) – Stitch(es)
Slst – Slip stitch
Ch – Chain
Sc – Single crochet (UK: Dc – Double crochet)
Notes
- The 1st round is worked in a magic ring and pulled tightly closed.
- The flowers are worked in the round with a slst join.
- Use a thin stitch marker or safety pin to mark the first stitch of each round.
- Check your stitch count at the end of each round to ensure you don’t miss or add any stitches. Stitch count is shown in bold.
- Notes are included on how to attach to earrings.
- The starting ch-1 does NOT count as a stitch.
Gauge
Not important for this pattern. To match stated measurements:
1st Round = approx. 0.4”/1cm diameter
INSTRUCTIONS
Flower (Make 2)
Round 1: Start with a tail of 3-4” (7.5-10cm), make a magic ring and ch 1, make 6 sc in the magic ring, join with slst to first sc, pull closed. – 6 sc
Leave starting tail on outside (right side).
Rounds 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each st around, place st marker in 1st st, join with slst to first sc. Remove st marker. – 6 sc (4 rounds)
Round 6: *Ch 3, slst in 2nd ch from hook, sc in 3rd ch, slst in next st, repeat from * around, finishing last slst in same st as starting ch-3. – 6 petals
Fasten off and weave in the finishing tail, but NOT the starting tail. Pull the starting tail firmly to ensure magic ring is tightly closed. Thread starting tail onto needle, bring through 2-3 stitches to secure and finish by threading the tail out through the top of the bluebell via the centre of the magic ring.
How to Attach to Earring
1. Open jump ring 1-2mm, thread it onto the earring, using long nose jewelry pliers, close it, ensuring no gap.
2. If not using beads skip to step 3. If using a bead, thread end onto a fine needle or beading needle and thread on bead, position flush to flower.
3. Thread yarn end through jump ring and back through bead if using, thread onto normal sewing needle and through centre of flower to inside of flower, tighten until you have your desired dangle, secure thread onto inside of flower and weave in end.
That’s you all done, easy peasy beautiful bluebell earrings, put them on and admire!
