Last week I discovered how to create a colouring page on Canva! Why am I only discovering this now?! All those years trawling the internet looking for what my kids wanted and I could’ve created it myself… arrrgh!
I wish I could say I planned to discover this, but nooooo, it was totally by accident. While I was meant to be creating pins! My ever-distracted brain sent me on a wee creative journey and just like that I spent hours doodling away creating a number of crochet themed colouring pages.
Colouring to De-Stress
Do you love to doodle to de-stress? I really enjoy colouring in, but as my children have become older, I don’t do it much nowadays. Sure, I have some mindful colouring books kicking around that I take on holidays, but I never seem to want to use them at home. I find the book format a little annoying, having to lean on it to stop it closing over perhaps. Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer a sheet of paper that I can easily turn around as I colour. Does anyone else do this?
There’s something very calming about sitting peacefully simply colouring in a picture, for no other reason than just because you want to.
I’m sure I’m not alone in finding it hard to make that time for myself to just do something like colouring, just for fun. We often forget about ourselves don’t we? And truth be told we can even forget what we actually like doing, just for ourselves. We can be so busy doing things and making things for other people that our wants can land at the back of the queue!

A Colouring Page without AI
I love being creative, it’s like meditation for me. My brain loves being in the hyperfocus flow state and I spend hours in the creative process. I love creating patterns with shapes and graphics on canva, and while AI is shouting loud in creative places, there’s absolutely no chance I’d use it and take that creative process away from me, where’s the fun in that?!
So on my little canva creative spree I’ve already produced several colouring pages. Mainly with a crochet theme but I had actually started with a mindfulness influence so created some of them first. Then one of my sons (12 years old) came in and we created a colouring page for him too (football themed). And then he came back to make one of a drumkit. I think there could be more coming!
It’s been such a lovely creative experience that I thought I would share some of the creativity with you, so you can enjoy some colouring in too. Below is my very first crochet colouring page, free for you to download. It’s in PDF format for easy printing and you just click to download. Once downloaded, for best results, select to print in Black & White/Grayscale in your print settings.
I’d love to know what you think and to see your coloured masterpieces – tag me in your social media posts or share them in our Facebook Group. Let’s have a little fun with colouring in. Here’s mine below.

Would you like some more crochet themed colouring pages? How about some mindfulness ones too? Let me know in the comments.
