Are you having difficulty getting the yarn you need? I’ve been seeing a few comments in Facebook Groups from people having trouble getting yarn where they live due to Lockdown, shops being closed etc and even online there seems to be problems.

I just wanted to suggest that this is the perfect time to try different yarns. Try out new suppliers too. There are plenty with stocks. It’s a great excuse to check out Etsy for the hand-dyed hand-spun yarns made by individuals who really need sales right now.
For a huge amount of choice from loads of brands, I must shine a big spotlight on LoveCrafts. They have plenty of yarn (including lots of recycled yarns) and although dealing with high volumes of orders, they’re doing a great job of getting those orders out! Wordwide delivery too. I’ve not had any problem at all. My last order came within 2 days! Here’s my latest stash addition, the fab new Paintbox Recycled Cotton 💚

Why not pop over for a look, they might even have your fav yarn on offer. They run offers on different yarns every week! If you can’t find your fav brand, I urge you to consider more eco friendly options, like recycled or organic yarns perhaps instead. I use recycled yarns almost exclusively now and they’re wonderful. I’ll be doing reviews on all the ones I’m using, over the next few months, to help you get a feel for them.

If you’re looking for the more specialist yarns like recycled Banana and silk Yarns, I have noticed they are very low in stocks or not available with suppliers right now. These are hand spun yarns so production is very limited right now.
Once this awful worldwide situation is over I hope more of us will help the communities in India and Nepal who make these yarns get back on their feet by buying up the yarns for future projects.
If you happen to have some Banana yarn in your stash, I have some exciting news for you … I have a lovely pattern using this yarn coming out soon. It’s just going out to my testers today! Here’s a wee sneek peek…
